Bhakupar Buhphang
John 15:16
“You didn’t choose me. But I have chosen you and appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name”.
About Bhakupar..
I was born and raised as a pagan and believed in other deities; and I never knew Jesus Christ or anything related to the Bible.
In my traditional belief system of: ‘Niam Khasi Tynrai’ we have always believed that the Rooster is a mediator between God and us, and ‘he’ is the one bringing the light to us human kind; and that is the reason why the rooster crows in the morning, because of the sunrise.
So I kept believing in this tradition and we performed sacrifices or incantations; whenever needed: like using a chicken egg and then cracking the egg open until an answer was received in some form of spiritual insight to those who preformed the ritual.
(We go for counselling and incantations, especially when we are sick, or have suspected jealousy or witchcraft attacks from others and also in many other cases.
We went for main events at-least three times in a year:
One: to go to the mountain top for festival, sacrifice and prayer,
Two: for the ritualistic traditional dance festival that lasts for three days; and
Three: a dance festival with sacrifices of goats which happens at the end part. So this is just a brief of my old or former beliefs system and I may share more details in future days.
Testimony of how I encounter Yeshua.(Jesus Christ)
There was a time, where I was in a paddy field and I gazed upon the sky looking with hope and I said to myself there is a God out there behind the clouds; and I am going to meet him after I die. So days and months passed by like that, without anything happen to me.
One day, one old woman came to our house and she would come to visit our house more often from that day; and I didn’t know that she came to preach about Jesus, until after I have came to know Jesus myself; and I used to remember one of my cousins who stayed with us: she use to burn wood and intentionally, she used to make the rooms fill with smoke coming from the burning wood in-order so that the old woman would go quickly; but she remain faithful until she finished counselling about Jesus and repentance. On this occasion, we were not convicted but after, I realized later on, and believed that God, was also working through her.
Again, there was a second person who came to the house and invited us to go to a church. He was (and is) a family friend; and this time we felt that we would go and try.
I also joined in with few of my relative attending the first Sunday service. I was excited because I attended the service, not to meet Jesus; but to meet new people and make new friends and see what are they doing there. And yes; indeed, it was very thrilling because they were singing songs, playing instruments. So, I kept going to the Sunday services regularly but after few months, I didn’t encounter Yeshua. (Jesus Christ)
I started to notice that some believers in the church (and also some friends) started ignoring me and I really feel emotionally ignored; as a consequence, I was so upset that I stopped going to Sunday service and instead of church: I played football, went swimming or roamed here and there, with worldly friends.
This went on and on, until nine months passed. I started to feel uncomfortable and so uneasy in my heart and was so restless that I didn’t know what to do; nor, what is going on.
Several days happened like this until I couldn’t bear it anymore. So, I decided to go in my room and prayed secretly; although, I didn’t know how to pray; but because of my restless heart, I had to pray.
I prayed like this: ” God if you are real, please speak to me and if you want me to go to church once again, I will go God.”
The Lord then spoke to me like this: ” Go to Church again, and search for Me, and the Truth”. And from that moment, I could feel the peace return; and I started to go to church again and also attended the Bible study but this time I wasn’t going for people or friends anymore or pastors or deacons or leaders or songs; but I was searching for the Truth and to learn and know Jesus more. This is just the first encounter but haven’t yet received the Spirit of God in me, through Jesus Christ. And so therefor, I wasn’t convicted of sin yet; but I was curious to know more of God because he did speak to me, and I COULD FEEL THE POWER OF HIS WORD.
So, after many months of going to Church services I was happy and suddenly some friends asked me if I have given my life to Jesus or not; and I said “no” and “I don’t need to” or maybe: “I will do in the future”; because I thought I will go to heaven because of my first encounter with God. I always avoided giving my life to Jesus, because I did not know what will happen if I give my life to Him; and I understood later: that it is the flesh that fears to give up. and I felt like I don’t need to surrender my life completely to Jesus to be saved.
And again, there was a time that a youth Pastor came to visit me and he came along with a young woman. The young woman give a testimony of how she came to know and believe in Jesus Christ, before we prayed or specifically prayed for my salvation. I was interested in her testimony and decided to ‘try’ Jesus Christ this time, and see what will happen. So the Pastor asked me for a decision; and I said “OK I will try” and we prayed according to the Pastor’s leading. After that prayer, I felt nothing was happening to me, but I was glad.
Later on; after a dinner, I went to sleep and I slept peacefully. In the morning, I was surprised that I woke so early – around 4 or 5am. It was winter time.
It was really a great experience in my life, that I have never experienced before; this is really the new morning to me because I could sense initially that I was bathed in love from the head to the toe.
Secondly, I could sense that my old life and sin has been washed away without knowing that it is the blood of Christ that washes me;
Thirdly, I could sense the joy overflow in me; and:
Fourthly, I could sense the newness in me (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” ),
And, on that same moment, I went out to gaze at the sky, and the fields; Everywhere, I could sense ‘newness’ as if I had the taste of Heaven. This is the turning point of my life and I then came into the real relationship with Jesus Christ from that time on.
After few years, I was able to finish my water baptism; and this too, had really impacted me and has really shaped me; of who, I became now; and lastly, it was on 2010 that I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. This is the unique one now, because of the Holy Fire that burns in my bones and flesh: from head to toe; and I could sense the deliverance of God in my life. Before, I received Baptism of Holy Spirit from the LORD with FIRE I was badly attacked by demons and was living in fear; and I couldn’t sleep alone; but when I was BAPTIZED with FIRE again, I was totally delivered from all these demons. In my old life, I also smoked, drank alcohol and had tasted Marijuana as well; and also I was also a porn addict too; until God delivered me, by His Mercy and Grace.
Praise the Lord Yeshua forever and ever. Amen.

Sadly, scams (where people obtain money by deceiving others) are increasing and there are some people who create fake accounts even on WhatsApp, or other social media platforms, in order to appear to look genuine.
They will use different means to obtain money from you, including: romance scams, where romance scammers pretend that you are, in a developing relationship with them; eventually they will start asking for money and prey upon your emotions, vulnerability and your trusting nature.
Scammers may also ring you to say that you have won a lottery or won x amount of money aswell and they need x amount from you (usually in ‘gift cards’ or ‘bitcoin’), to pay for the tax; to release the winnings to you. Don’t be fooled.
Q. What can I do to protect myself from scammers here on this WhatsApp group and also the website?
Here are our suggestions:
Don’t give/ send any monetary value: either cash or electronic funds to someone, that you don’t know or haven’t met in person.
Charity Giving:
Again, don’t give bank, credit/ debit card details to someone you don’t know. Use a encrpyted secure payment gateway facility such as PayPal, Stripe, or a third party that is regulated around the world; and make sure that it’s a genuine website for that charity. If in doubt stop, think and do some research. If you do feel led to give; only give what you can realistically afford to ‘lose.’ Never give to people who pressurising you or come across with a sense of urgency.
Unexpected calls or messages:
If someone does contact you directly and message you; then one of the things you can do, is to have a video call with them and also take a screenshot of the person if you can. Normally, scammers like to hide their faces and point the camera down to the floor or ceiling, cover the camera so they can’t be seen; or indeed, cover their faces. Although, you might have a video call with them and see them, it doesn’t guarantee that they are not scammers. At least you know what they look like and provide evidence. If they start asking for money for some reason, within a few days/ weeks, then please report to admin; and also block and delete them from your phone.
Also, if someone rings you suddenly that you don’t know, or you hear an automated message, don’t respond and then disconnect the other caller. Immediately, block the caller. A genuine caller will tell you who they are and what company they are connected with. Even if you are not sure; put the phone down and find the official number of the company and call them back.
If you suspect a company/ or individual calls you on the phone and reports to be from Microsoft Support, Windows Support, Geek squad, Amazon/ support, or any Norton antivirus tech support; please do not answer: put the phone down. These companies will not ring you. It is most likely a scammer.
Be safe on your computer device:
Likewise, if you get window popups on your device with information to say that you have a virus / or that your files will be removed/ erased also under that, or indeed in addition around that message, will be a number to ring; Please do not call it. No antivirus company will ever ring you. Please shutdown and re-start your computer. If you continue getting unwanted messages and popups like this; disconnect from the internet; then take your device to a tech centre and let someone professional look at it to remove unwanted software and/ or viruses.
Installing software:
Don’t let anyone trick you to install ‘Anydesk’, ‘Team-viewer’ or any other remote software on your device via the internet that connects to another pc/ laptop, tablet or mobile phone or let someone else control your device, without your authorisation. Installing this software will let scammers control your pc and then they will have access to your bank account, email. etc.
Gift Vouchers
If anyone (that you don’t know personally) asks you buy scratch card gift vouchers, such as GooglePlay, Amazon store , Facebook or any other game vouchers which you can find in your local high street store please, do not purchase.
If you suspect that you are a victim of a scam: Write down and gather as much evidence as you can. Make recordings, inform a family member and report any scams to your local police authority.
Be wise, there are many wolves in sheep’s clothing.
Be very vigilant!
Also as a final note:
Please be mindful and be careful, what you write in the public group aswell; as your messages will be read by people throughout the world; only post messages that you don’t mind others reading.

It’s really heart breaking when we hear of someone having to report a member for something or another; to the admin team; or indeed about someone potentially trying to scam others in the group.
We are trying to keep the community alive, safe and a welcoming environment and sometimes there are people wishing to exploit and do harm to others. Sadly, to make our community feel safe we need to identify and prune some branches to ensure our group grows accordingly in Gods ways. Helping our admin team to identify these problems is necessary. to keep everyone safe. You can review our section on how to keep safe from here:

There are many scams on the internet that trick you to part with your money with different ways. Here are a few to be aware of:
Romance Scammers
A romance scam is when a new love interest tricks you into falling for them when they really just want your money. Romance scams start in a few different ways, usually online. Scammers may spend time getting to know you and developing trust to fool you into thinking the relationship is real before asking you for money, a loan, or access to your finances.
Blackmail scams
A blackmailer’s mission is to scare you into sending them money by threatening to distribute private content—from your computer or phone, or shared with them over an email, text, or social media—that could embarrass you. They might ask you to wire them money, or send it using a mobile app, a gift card, or cryptocurrency. Sometimes these scammers are complete strangers and other times they might be someone you met online and thought you could trust.
Prize/ Lottery Winner Scammers
In a lottery or prize scam, the scammers may call, text, or email to tell you that you’ve won a prize through a lottery or sweepstakes and then ask you to pay an upfront payment for fees and taxes. In some cases, they may claim to be from a federal government agency like the CFPB.
Sale of non-existent goods
Scammers use mobile payment apps to trick people into sending money or merchandise without holding up their end of the deal. For example, a scammer may offer to sell you concert or sports tickets, or a puppy or other pet, but then never actually give them to you. Or a scammer might purchase an item from you, appear to send a payment, and then cancel it before it reaches your bank account.
Charity scams
A charity scam is when a thief poses as a real charity or makes up the name of a charity that sounds real to get money from you.
These scams often increase during the holiday season as well as after natural disasters and emergencies, such as storms, wildfires, or earthquakes. Be careful when a charity calls to ask for donations, especially ones that suggest they’re following up on a donation pledge you don’t remember making. Also watch for scammers that try to get you to donate by using live streaming on social media platforms, altered images, or images or voices generated by artificial intelligence (AI). They typically ask you to send money online, often using cryptocurrency, so they can get your money quickly.
Debt collection scams
Debt collectors might contact you to collect on legitimate debts you owe. But there are scammers who pose as debt collectors to get you to pay for debts you don’t owe.
Grandparent scams
If you get a call from someone who sounds like a grandchild or relative asking you to wire or transfer money or send gift cards to help them out of trouble, it could be a scam. Artificial intelligence has made it easier for scammers to clone voices and alter images to make it seem like someone you know needs help. Meant to play on your emotions, this scam is among those commonly used to target older adults, especially during the holidays.
Money mule scams
A money mule is someone who receives and moves fraudulently obtained money. While some money mules know they’re assisting with criminal activity, others are unaware that their actions are helping fraudsters.
Money mules may be recruited through online job or social media posts that promise easy money for little effort. They may also agree to help a love interest who they’ve met online or over the phone, by sending or receiving money, as part of a romance scam.
THESE ARE ONLY SOME COMMON SCAMS GOING AROUND ON THE INTERNET.
THERE ARE MORE COMPLEX SCAMS BEING INTRODUCED ALL THE TIME.
